Louis Lazaris

TAKIS FILMS is a Montreal based boutique film company run by Louis Lazaris. Louis has always enjoyed telling stories and takes his inspiration from everyday life. Key themes in his work are (1) the struggles of growing up; (2) the value of friendship; and (3) the challenge of relationships. In 2009 he received a B.A in Communication Studies from Concordia University where he focused in film. Louis has directed music videos for local Montreal bands (Pif Paf Hangover, Young Lungs) and his latest short film “I’ll Miss You Someday” won the Audience Award at the January 2014 Toronto quarterly film screening “Shorts that are not pants.” He is currently writing a coming-of-age horror film / love-letter to Sam Raimi entitled “Amy of Darkness” and perfecting his taco recipe.

I never posted my February video on Tumblr! There won’t be a March and April video… but expect the BEST May video. Promise.

2. A Sherbrooke Adventure

Victoria and myself visited Kyle and Marie-Piere on the last weekend of February. They moved to Sherbrooke a few years ago and we try visiting them as often as possible… coincidently it’s always in the middle of a snow storm.

1. A Cottage Adventure - “Myth”

Justin, Lauren, Victoria and myself spent our New Year’s Eve in a cottage somewhere in the Adirondacks, NY. We were there from December 30th, 2012 to January 1st, 2013. The 4 of us ate a lot of food, drank a lot of alcohol, and danced a lot.

Music: “Myth” - Beach House

I plan to shoot and edit a video to a song every month this year. By this time next year I will have 12 videos documenting my 2013, along with a 12 song mix-tape.

Hey guys it’s been a long time since I’ve done anything creative and I’m going crazy! Bryan and myself were ready to shoot a 2nd music video for Young Lungs, but budget plans fell through :( I’m currently brainstorming another video on a smaller scale for YL and storyboarding a short film I plan to shoot after winter. I’m excited!

I’ll keep you posted!

Here lies the video of “Blood on the Streets” directed and edited by our good friend Louis Lazaris. The video was shot by none other than the brilliant Bryan Wilkat and his assistant photog Megan Whitcher. Lastly, we remained beautiful and free-of-shine thanks to the lovely Marie…

I had a blast working with Young Lungs and cannot wait for our next collaboration! This video also marks my fourth collaboration with Bryan Wilkat and Megan Whitcher and third collaboration with Marie Vigouroux. It was an honour working with them once again! Also, thanks to everyone who helped blow balloons and move gear on that cold December day!
